Teaching Artists in the Schools.
The majority of our work takes place directly in public school orchestra classrooms. Through nearly twice-weekly support from professional string clinicians, we provide personalized mentorship and instruction to students who benefit most from additional guidance and encouragement—all at no cost to schools, students, or families.
Through consistent relationships with caring mentors, students build confidence, resilience, self-worth, and a sense of belonging. While music is our vehicle, youth development is our purpose. We use collaborative music-making tools to help young people develop perseverance, agency, empathy, and the confidence to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.
Above all, we believe every child deserves access to meaningful creative experiences, supportive mentorship, and opportunities for personal growth during their most formative years.
“Crescendo Club has made high-quality music education accessible to at least 50 kids in my 6th-grade orchestras, who otherwise would not be able to afford the kind of support that they deserve.”
— J. Gruber, Director, C.S. Porter Middle School Orchestra
